Today was held the second meeting of the Anti-corruption Working Group, part of the National Council for Democracy and Human Rights, which operates within the Office of the President of the Republic of Kosovo. The proceedings of the meeting were co-led by the Director of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, Mr. Yll Buleshkaj and the Advisor to the President’s Cabinet, Mrs. Diellza Mujaj.
Ms. Mujaj presents the progress of the fulfillment of the objectives defined in the action plan of the Working Group, the progress achieved but also the challenges in its implementation. She also instructed participants to send the latest updates on the implementation of that plan.
Director Buleshkaj presented the actions taken by the institutions for the prevention of corruption in terms of the drafting of integrity plans, the protection of whistleblowers, the sectoral assessment of the risk of corruption, as well as the anti-corruption assessment of legal acts. Buleshkaj and the participants also discussed the main objectives and areas identified with higher risk of corruption, the challenges in the design and implementation of anti-corruption policies and plans, but also the need for additional capacities in these important areas.
Representatives of the Office of the President, the Assembly of Kosovo, the Government, independent institutions, and civil society were present at this meeting.
